Pocket Spring Mattresses
Pocket spring bedding is manufactured with a grid of springs, each in an individual pocket of fabric material.
Hourglass-shaped Bonnell springs and continuous coils are joined at the top and bottom to form a single spring unit. But because they’re not bound to each other, each pocket spring is able to operate virtually on its own.
As a result, the body weight resting on one spring doesn’t go on to affect springs that are adjacent to it.
Research from around the world often ranks pocket-spring mattresses as the more comfortable type of inner-spring mattress.
